What your inverter is telling you

Your inverter is the heart of your system — it keeps your power stable and flags anything unusual with an error or status code. Fronius

102 – High Voltage: Western Power's grid voltage is too high and the inverter shuts down to protect itself. Monitor over 2–3 days; if it persists we'll lodge an over-voltage submission with Western Power. 567 – High Voltage (ramping down/smoothing): grid voltage is rising and the inverter is ramping down (an Australian standard); increasing the load in the house can help. 996 – Communication error: the inverter has lost the portal/internet — usually after changing provider, Wi-Fi password or going NBN; see our Wi-Fi Reconnect guide. 475 – Earth Isolation: possible water ingress in an isolator or panel/plug (can also trigger in very low morning light); lodge a service ticket or call us. 301 – Internal (DC) error: restart the inverter, press enter and wait 5 minutes; if the green light doesn't return, lodge a service ticket. 306–307 – Low PV/DC: low DC from the panels; normal early morning/late evening, but if it shows mid-day restart the inverter, then lodge a ticket if it persists. 509 – No power for 24 hours: usually a blackout or grid surge; restart the inverter.

SolarEdge

SolarEdge shows a number from 1–8 for any alert. Alerts 1 & 2: communication has been lost between the internet and the inverter — check your monitoring portal for online/disconnected, then follow our Wi-Fi Reconnect guide. Alerts 3 to 8: these represent various inverter issues — please create a service ticket and one of our team will investigate and respond within 48 hours.

Sungrow

2, 3, 14, 15 – Grid Overvoltage: grid voltage too high and the inverter shuts down to protect itself; monitor 2–3 days and we'll lodge an over-voltage submission if it persists. 4, 5 – Grid Undervoltage: grid voltage below the inverter's allowable limit; it usually reconnects once the grid returns to normal — monitor 2–3 days and raise a service ticket if it repeats. Disconnect / No connection – Communication error: the inverter has lost the portal/internet, usually after a provider, password or NBN change; see our Wi-Fi Reconnect guide.

SMA

1 – Grid Fault: grid voltage too high and the inverter shuts down to protect itself; monitor 2–3 days and we'll lodge over-voltage if it persists. Grid Undervoltage: grid voltage below the allowable limit; usually reconnects when the grid normalises — raise a service ticket if it repeats. 10248 – No WLAN connection possible: lost portal/internet, usually after a provider/password/NBN change; see our Wi-Fi Reconnect guide. 3501 – Insulation Fault: the inverter has detected a ground fault in the PV array; please create a service ticket.

Huawei

2032 – Grid Loss: a grid outage, or the AC circuit is disconnected / AC switch is off; check all breakers are on and the property has power. 2033 – Grid Undervoltage: grid voltage below the allowable limit; usually reconnects when the grid normalises — raise a service ticket if it repeats. 2062 – Insulation Fault: the PV array is in a moist environment and not well insulated to ground; create a service ticket. 2081 – Optimiser Fault: an optimiser is offline or faulty; create a service ticket. 2068 – Battery abnormal (minor): the battery is disconnected, the switch has tripped, or the battery is faulty; create a service ticket.
